The French policy aims to students in elementary and intermediate level no longer permit the use of mobile phones in school.
The Senate, the second chamber of Parliament, said on Wednesday the law on environment-added similar wording. Cell phones represented a “threat to public health,” it states. The board also decided to ban cell phone advertising, which is aimed specifically at children under the age of 14.
The amendment to the law has yet to be approved by the National Assembly. One survey shows that many French students to use their phones during class, even though the school rules would prevent that.
