Ehud Olmert will resign in September

Eclabousse by accusations of corruption, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert announced Wednesday, July 30, he would leave his post after the appointment of his successor to head the Kadima party planned on September 17. “I have decided not to participate in the primary within the Kadima movement and not interfere in these elections,” said Ehud Olmert since his official residence in Jerusalem.
“When the new president (Kadima) will be chosen, I resign the post of prime minister to enable him to train effectively and quickly a government,” he added. The centrist Kadima party had announced the previous day that it would organize on September 17 an internal consultation to elect a new leader. The Olympic Games have been sold

In Beijing, the last 250 000 tickets for the Olympic Games have been sold. The organizing committee BOCOG announced on Monday in a brief note on its website, all tickets were awarded. The Beijing police took 26 people meanwhile, which according to a report by the state news agency Xinhua black market in tickets accused.

A Turkish daily says Monday, July 28 that police arrested three teenagers in connection with two bombings Sunday evening on a crowded Istanbul which have resulted in at least 17 dead and 154 wounded. According to Milliyet, “the three teenagers aged between 16 and 17 years were arrested in the basement of an apartment located near the site of the explosions.
