The Swedish research teams continue to surprise us by publishing the results of their monitoring of thousands of people over several years.

A significant portion of invasive breast cancer could decline by themselves, without treatment, according to a study that promises to be controversial.
Published Monday in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine, the study suggests that breast cancer screening could lead to a “surdiagnostic, while about 22 per cent of cases resolve themselves without therapy.
Once a cancer is detected, however, it would not be considered ethical not to treat it. So if this theory is correct, a significant number of women subjected to surgical treatment for X-rays, chemotherapy and other therapies that would never have been necessary if their cancer had not been detected.
